Dear Messrs. Castello:
On behalf of NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service, Southwest
Region, I would like to
extend our deepest gratitude for the help you provided during
the August and September 2008
Observer Training courses. We would like to thank you for the
use of the raft and all the other
services you do for us via Frank Orth and Associates. It is
through kind organizations like yours
that allow our program to run smoother while giving the
observers more hands-on experience.
Thank you again for all your help and we look forward to working
with you in the future.
Sincerely,
Mark Helvey

Dear Management,
We are sending you this
letter to say thank you. We recently were referred to you from
Revere Supply Company. It is so refreshing to get such efficient
service. We talked with your employee, David Costello and we
feel like we have gained a good friend. He was so helpful and
very responsive to our needs. So many times management never
gets the word about good service from their employees. Keep up
the good work and have a great day.

Dear Mr. Costello:
Thank you for writing to express your support for Sections 307
and 314 of
H.R.283O, the Coast Guard Authorization Act of2007. I appreciate
hearing from you on
this matter.
As you noted, Section 307 would improve commercial fishing
vessel safety by
updating operation and training requirements and establishing
new regulations to ensure
that vessels are seaworthy and adequate equipped. Section 314
would raise standards for
survival craft so such craft must ensure that no part of an
individual is immersed in water.
On April 24, 2008, the House of Representatives passed H.R.2830
by a vote of
395 to 7 with Sections 307 and 314 included. As the Senate moves
forward with Coast
Guard reauthorization, be assured that I will make vessel safety
standards a top priority.
Again, thank you for writing to me.. Please feel free to contact
me again about
this or other issues of concern to you.
Sincerely,
Barbara Boxer

Subj: Our raft and presenting at our Yacht Club
We own a Kelly-Peterson 44 Cutter and about 3
and a half years ago, we purchased of your 6-person offshore
plus rafts with a few optional upgrades (boarding platform,
pelican pac, stainless cradle, tripod arch and inflatable
floor).
Our raft lives on deck, just aft of our center
cockpit (thru-bolted onto our aft cabin hatch). We brought it
into Avalon Rafts in Wilmington today for servicing (it expired
November 2007) and they spent a couple of hours with us
inflating the raft (hopefully the only time we'll actually ever
see it is for servicing) and going over every single feature, as
well as every item in the Emergency Pack. We were absolutely
impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, the
professionalism and helpfulness of Michael and David and their
knowledge of marine safety and Winslow Rafts. They are a credit
to your company and we have copied them on this email. We took
quite a few digital photographs of the process and plan to use
them for our orientation talks when new people come sailing with
us as crew (we will be competing in the Marina del Rey-Puerto
Vallarta Race in January 2009).
This brings me to a request for your
help/support - we're members of the Del Rey Yacht Club in Marina
del Rey
(the sponsoring club for the race). Every month, our 'Sea
Ventures'' group within the club meets to go over
specific topics of interest to our members. When we spoke with
the person in charge of scheduling the
presentations and told him of our experiences today, he asked us
to present to the group at their next meeting on
September 16th, since many members have thought about putting
life rafts aboard. Do you have any
Literature/price Lists or materials you could share with us for
the presentation? (we usually have about 30 members
at the meetings). We will be showing our digital slides and
talking about rafts in general and Winslow Rafts in
particular.
Once again - thank you for a well built and
excellent product that we hope never to use, and a re-packing
facility
that makes the servicing process not only painless but
educational.
All the best,
Bill Tarr
